Oxford
Oxford is the last city I visited during my UK & Ireland Trip.
I only spent a day in here and my friend & I booked a guesthouse during our stay in there.
Oxford is like everything I imagined except that it was way less crowded.
I finally reunited with my friend and we went there by train. Sadly Uber/Eurekar service was not available so we took a taxi ride to the guesthouse.
We got a room on the 4th floor and it was almost like a midnight workout since there was no elevator and I brought 2 bags where one of them was so heavy I almost fainted lol.
The name of the guesthouse we stayed at is "Newton" (click the link for further info).
It has a gorgeous interior design and is managed by friendly staffs. You can actually go to the city center by feet from there. Not to mention that it's very close (only took 5-10 mins car ride) to the train station. We had a good night rest before exploring the city the next day.
We started the morning by having a breakfast and then walk to the city center. To be honest with you, I am not a very much organized person when it comes to arranging a trip itinerary. So, I really did rely to my friend on this matter.
We spent the day by walking around town and we had "Sunday Roast" for lunch. What a decent way to spend my last day of vacation except that the weather was kinda gloomy.
FYI, we were strolling around town on a Sunday morning. Therefore, there was a service going on in the Christ Church. And maybe that's also the reason why the town was not as crowded.
Just like what I saw in Maudy Ayunda's famous Oxford Vlog, Oxford is indeed full of people riding bicycle and they just put it somewhere near the building just like you can see on the picture below.
These are some Oxford's landmarks, respectively: The entrance of Bodleian Library, Bridge of Sighs, and Sheldonian Theater with me walking in front of it hehehe.
Some of pics we took in front of the infamous Radcliffe Camera.
Some views around town.
We closed the day by having lunch in a restaurant. Arum (my friend) told me that many restaurants there have this special menu called "Sunday Roast" every Sunday in the UK.
Sunday Roast is a traditional British meal which is only served on Sunday that consists of roasted meat, potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, mint sauce, and gravy.
---So that is about all my day in Oxford before returning back to London and heading to the airport to catch a flight back home.
