Dubrovnik, Croatia
Dubrovnik is (officially) one of the most mesmerizing places on Earth, I believe.
The old town, the beach, the fort by the beach, the cliffs, and all the never ending wonders.
As busy as it gets to explore Dubrovnik in the daylight, it got even prettier in the evening.
I was there for half a week, and oddly enough it was raining 80% of the time that even the tour guide was saying it's abnormal. Was I very sad? Of course.
But the city was just too pretty for me to be sad all day.
I think it's the greatest old town in the world!?! lol
Maybe it's the fact that it's huge, and it's got forts in the outside and the forts are overlooking the ever-beautiful Adriatic sea.
My tour guide said it's because it's super touristy, also more than 80% of the old town residents have moved out and their properties have been turned into restaurants/hotel/bnbs/souvenir shops/etc.
It's very expensive to maintain a property inside the wall.
I think on the first day, I spent roaming around aimlessly. It felt like mazes with stairs all around town.
Oh also, it's filming location of Game of Thrones and there are just so many city tours to explore the filming sites.

I swear this staircase is alwaaaayyysss super crowded. The only time I caught this kinda empty was after 8PM.
Probably after tourists have left the wall, since the wall is basically a landmark (though you can live inside too).
There are many bars and restaurants near this spot, also many hidden bars overlooking the staircase where tons of people get some drinks just to get a clear photo of this staircase. However, they marked up the price like crazy. A plate of dish would cost more than 25EUR, or even almost 10EUR for a drink.
I stayed inside the wall for my whole Dubrovnik trip, it's a bit more expensive (but also depends on your luck though, there are some cheaper airbnb too) but it's near to main tourist attractions so you'll spend 0 money for transportation.
I did not even explore Dubrovnik beyond the wall, maybe because I spent the days either exploring the old town inside the wall (which are just amazing) OR going to other countries like Bosnia and Montenegro which are just hours away from Dubrovnik.
The city is verrry safe, verrrrry pretty. And I swear I feel like there's nothing like it.
100% amazing destination. 100000% recommended, 100000% will revisit should I have the chance.
