UK and Ireland Trip 2020
Hi all!
I just got back from very first visit to the UK and Ireland.
I went there with a friend for around 10 days.
To be frank with you, we have tried our (well.. mostly her) best to organize the itinerary and pre-book everything to get a cheaper rate but boy... life is surely what happens when you don't plan stuffs.
Before I get to that, I am still satisfied with the fact that I managed to visit all 3 capitals: London, Dublin, and Edinburgh
And although there were adjustments here and there, I am still happy that I managed to go home healthy and without any significant troubles. Phew.
So what happened was that I fell sick on my 2nd day in London.
I have a weak stomach and since my body was not fully adjusted yet with the new timezone, it perceived the signal that I skipped meals and when I sipped a cup of hot chocolate, I felt super nauseous. The next thing I knew, I kept throwing my whole stomach out for the next 24 hours.
I was insanely sad because it took a lot of effort to save my money and get my boss' permission to take vacation that long and why did I have to fall sick in London?
Long story short, I cancelled my flight to Dublin and rested in my friend's house for 2 days.
2 days of doing nothing but putting some asian foods in my tummy (because that's the only food that my body did not reject). When I felt better, I booked another flight and accommodation in Dublin to continue my journey to Ireland.
Although I had to cancel my trip to the Wicklow National Park and the Cliff of Moher, I am still happy that I saw Dublin.
So this is the picture of me and my friends (who really helped me go through all the sickness drama) strolling around London Chinatown , of course the pic was taken before the upset stomach parade:
This trip is actually my first time to Europe and it's surely something new to me to see all European buildings and people with my own eyes.
I went there with my friend but we parted ways when I went to Scotland.
Sooo it was like a semi solo trip or something lol.
Honestly I am just so grateful that I could safely be home after the trip.
It was strange and new to me and as much as I understand that the English, Scottish, and Irish people are generally friendly and nice, it was still a thrilling sensation.
I went there for 10 days and I spent my days mostly in England... Well due to the sickness and all.
To be frank with you, I was planning to share my itinerary and my version of recommended places to see in my blog. However, since I did a lot of improvisation in my trip I don't think I can recommend stuffs that much to you.
I violated my budget cap in a lot of ways since I had to re-book my tickets and all. But hey maybe that's what travelling or life in general is sometimes.
However, I will still write what I did visit, how much money I spent, and how I actually went through my UK & Ireland itinerary on my next posts.
Cheers,
Suha!
